Go Back23 April National Sovereignty and Children´s Day..

April 23, 1920 is the date when the First Grand National Assembly, representing the will of the Turkish nation, was opened and proclaimed the sovereignty of the Turkish people.

Atatürk decided to celebrate '23rd April' on 23rd April 1924 as a holiday. Five years later on April 23, 1929, Atatürk presented this feast to children.

Children's Day was celebrated for the first time on 23 April 1929. In the mind of the great leader Ataturk, children are the future of the nation.

Turkey was the first and the only country that presented festivals to children in the world and shared this festival with the whole world.
